Take extreme care around the contacts on the connector in the middle. It has contacts on both sides of the raised section in the middle. What I noticed, though, is a workaround: If I disconnect the USB-C to Displayport cable and then reconnect it, it doesn't happen again for that session. As long as I don't turn the laptop off, I can play as long as I want. Tried 2 DPxDP cables with 2 different DPxUSB-C adapters and a certified DisplayportxUSB-C cable but there is no difference.

Even Bluetooth devices like the Sony WH1000xm3 get disconnected.

So to connect to my external monitor it goes SL3 -> Surface Dock 2 -> External Monitor. The connection from dock to monitor is USB-C to HDMI Cable. My issue is that every time my device goes to sleep, shuts down or restarts; the external monitor is disconnected. I have to remove the cable and leave it for a minute then try plugging it back in.
